Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) and Mubadala Investment Company signed an agreement to sponsor the Third Stage of the UAE Tour 2021 on Wednesday.
The third edition of the UAE Tour that runs across five Emirates and in seven stages from February 21 to 27 is the UCI calendar’s opening WorldTour race of the season and the only WorldTour race in the Middle East.
The agreement was signed at the ADSC headquarters by His Excellency Aref Hamad Al Awani, General Secretary of ADSC, and His Excellency Homaid Abdullah Al Shimmari, Deputy Group CEO and Chief Corporate & Human Capital Officer of Mubadala Investment Company.
As a wholly-owned asset, Strata Manufacturing was given the rights to sponsor the UAE Tour's Third Stage by Mubadala. The Third stage of the Tour will commence from Strata Manufacturing's headquarters at the Al Ain International Airport and finish at the summit of Jebel Hafeet, covering a 166-kilometer distance, passing through many prominent landmarks in the Garden City.
HE Al Awani stressed the importance of signing the sponsorship agreement for the third phase of the Emirates Tour, saying: “We are overwhelmed by Mubadala's continuous support for both our world and community sporting events. ” He added,
“It reflects their true values, commitment and social responsibilities. As a national business conglomerate, they play a significant role in supporting and encouraging the community to practice a healthy lifestyle. We are very thankful and appreciate the sponsorship and unstinted support of Mubadala and Strata."
HE Al Shammari, said: “We are proud to partner with the UAE Tour and support sporting events that positively impact communities both at home and abroad. Through such sponsorships, we seek to inspire the next generation of athletes and motivate our community towards a healthier lifestyle. We are honored to have the third stage of the Tour commence from Strata, our flagship manufacturing facility in Al Ain.”
Strata was established in 2009 and began operations in 2010. Strata has entered into partnerships with leading global aircraft original equipment manufacturers, including Boeing, Airbus and Leonardo - Finmeccanica for the airframe industry, and a major supplier to Pilatus Aircraft Limited, SABCA for the aerospace industry, and SAP for the aircraft industry.
