Kashima Antlers booked their passage in the semi-finals and setup a meeting with defending champions Real Madrid in the FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2018 after a 3-2 result over Guadalajara.
The Asian champions rallied from a goal down in the first half to get the better of the CONCACAF champions 3-2 at the Hazza bin Zayed stadium in Al Ain.
Guadalajara made the perfect start with a goal in the third minute but the Asian Champions came back strongly with three second half goals Chivas could add a consolation goal in added time.
Angel Zaldivar's header put the CONCACAF champions in the lead on three minutes before Kashima's Ryota Nagaki netted the equaliser shortly after the break.
Kashima built on that success when their Brazilian forward Serginho found the net from the penalty spot, and substitute Hiroki Abe stretched their lead on 84 minutes.
Alan Pulido’s injury-time spot kick was saved by goalkeeper Suntae Kwoun but the loose ball was turned into their own net by Kashima’s Brazilian midfielder Hugo Leonardo.
