Under the generous patronage of HH Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Abu Dhabi is hosting the world judo Tour’s fourth Grand Slam of the year.
The event will take place in Abu Dhabi the period 26-28 October 2017, and is organized by Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) in cooperation with UAE Wrestling & Judo Federation, as more than 300 judokas from 50 countries will be competing in this event. A
Details of Abu Dhabi Grand Slam were disclosed in a press conference held in Abu Dhabi in October 2017, in the presence of HE Aref Hamad Al Awani, ADSC General Secretary, and Mr. Nasser Al Tammimi, General Secretary of the UAE Wrestling & Judo Federation.
Ahmed Al Qubaisi, ADSC marketing director and Mohammed Jassim, Assistant General Secretary of the UAE Wrestling & Judo Federation attended the press conference as well.
HE Aref Hamad Al Awani, ADSC General Secretary said: “First of all, we would like to express our thanks and gratitude to The President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, for their unwavering support to sport sectors in our country.”
Al Awani added: “We are proud to announce organizing this Grand Slam under the generous patronage of HH Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, who has been supporting all past eight editions of this.”
Al Awani also thanked the UAE Wrestling & Judo Federation under the leadership of HE Mohammed bin Thaloube Al Darrie for their highly appreciated efforts that resulted in having worldwide recognition and respect for UAE judo sports.
