About the Event

Following a successful first edition, the UAE Tour – the one and only World Tour race in the Middle East – will return in 2020 taking place from 23rd February for seven exciting days of racing across seven emirates.

The UAE Tour - the Union Cyclist International (UCI) approved race - attracted all 18 UCI World Teams in its first year and hosted some of the world’s top superstar riders including 2018 UCI Race World Champion, Alejandro Valverde, 2017 Giro D’italia winner Tom Dumoulin and former Tour de France winner Vincenzo Nibali amongst others.

Reaching an average speed of 40,546 km/h, the 140 participating riders travelled across all seven emirates, taking in the famous scenery and landmarks the United Arab Emirates has to offer which in 2020 will begin in Dubai and finish in Abu Dhabi on the 29th February.

The UAE Tour also encompasses a community aspect with the UAE Tour Challenge - four amateur races open to all cyclists which take place across both January and February in the build up to the professional race. Alongside this is the UAE Tour Educational Project which aims to educate children on the benefits of cycling and the importance of an active and healthy lifestyle.
