Under supervision of UAE Ice Sports Federation Abu Dhabi Ice Hockey Club Organizes the 4th Edition of the President’s Ice Hockey Cup

As disclosed in a press conference held in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, 12 November 2017, the Abu Dhabi Ice Hockey Club will organize the fourth edition of President’s Ice Hockey Cup Championship.

The press conference was held in the presence of Hamel Al Qubaisi, Deputy Chairman of UAE Ice Sports Federation, Talal Al Hashemi from Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and Juma Al Dhaheri, General Secretary of UAE Ice Sports Federation

The championship will be supported by Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC), and will be held under the supervision of the UAE Ice Sports Federation.

The championship comes within the calendar of Abu Dhabi Ice Hockey Club for current season, and  will take place at Abu Dhabi Ice Rink-Zayed Sports City, in the period 14-17 November 2017, with six teams competing to win the coveted cup of this event.

The 6 teams have been divided into 2 groups: the “West” group and the “East” group. The “West” group will include the President Team of Belarus, UAE Ice Hockey Stars Team, and Abu Dhabi Storms Team, while the “East” group  will include: Germany Legends Team, Lebanon Canada Team, and Barta Team of Czech Republic.

The competing teams will play against each other in direct three-game- matches, in 20 minutes for each game, with all matched to be played between 5-10 in the evening time. 

Then the teams will move for the semifinals and the finals.  

Commenting on this championship, Hamel Al Qubaisi, Deputy Chairman of UAE Ice Sports Federation, Talal Al Hashemi, representative of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and Juma Al Dhaheri, General Secretary of UAE Ice Sports Federation, lauded the limitless support of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to all sport sectors in our country.

They also praised the support of HH Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of ADSC to sport events in Abu Dhabi, and the role taken by DSC to develop the sport sector in Abu Dhabi emirate.  

They said this championship will help to reflect the development of UAE ice hockey sport,  and will attract  a large number of spectators.
